Now that we have started making our opening title sequence we thought it would be a good idea to start thinking about different names for our programme.
These were some ideas that we came up with:
1) Sunrise News
2) London News
3) South East London News
4) Central London News
5) SE1 News
I did not like the first name that we came up with because I was conscious that it was a news programme rather than a morning television show and I was worried that the word 'sunrise' would give this impression.
I felt that the second idea was too vague and too bland and was not a name that would stand out and be remembered easily.
I did not really like the third option because I thought that this name was too long and would be quite a mouthful to say for the reporters in the programme itself.
The fourth option was a close contender because it was straight to the point, easy to say and remember, however I did not think that this choice was original enough for our programme.
Our final decision for the name of our programme is SE1 News. I think that this name is good because it is short and easy to remember and it sums up what the programme is about. We picked SE1 because it is the postcode for the majority of london and the area that we wanted to cover in our news report.
