After many hours of struggling to upload the video onto youtube, I finally managed to lower the file size so that it would fit in with youtube's requirements.

Ackowledgments
I would just like to thank PC Donna Harding for agreeing to take part in our media project and for her co-operation in the meeting times.
I would also like to thank Mr James Heath for giving up his time, so that we could interview him and for being so understanding about what we wanted to get from the recording and being able to cater to our needs.
Thank you to Fahmina Ali aka Runi for being so patient with us during our filming and for understanding our view points and the reasons behind certain aspects of the filming process. Thanks for remembering your costumes too!!
Thank you to Alison Roddy for co-operating with us and for giving up her free periods to help us with our coursework. Thanks for remembering your costumes too!!
Thank you SO much to Charlotte Myers who came with us on so many different occassions to help us with our filming ( 8 different takes in total) Thank you for being so patient with us, we really appreciate it.
Lastly, but by no means least thank you to Katie McAllister, who stepped in at the last minute to help up complete our video by taking it up to 5 minutes to complete our brief. We are very grateful.

Evaluation Q4
How did you use media technologies in the construction and research planning and evaluation stages?
The first thing we had to do was research different new programmes and their websites, we used
as a search engine and typed in many different names of well known programmes and news companies and looked into their background and the way that they make their programmes.

After we decided to base our programme on
we then had the slight problem of finding the theme tune. I used google to search for theme tunes and I found this website... http://www.televisiontunes.com/
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizE2FOQGJ7RpDpBi4VOP37aM1q9w9_EwGx8DYivcIPAoNfj7QKzibgBSu2EaEjQ3a54biXCOUoUTNMPag-KCzplUb1EPnJi3yCz17zolbR3UBbEydhymx2tCbDc0p3fJLWXmJnDTiuEDGp/s400/itv+news.jpg)
I used this website as the source for getting our theme tune and I managed to download the tune straight to my user name. ![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVlJz5vgIrvvNK4dvwI9yFkYQDjdMzLuzUKcxcn204TZruhdADqpZ4S1TJi1Vs7e6htjImyBJXoU4ZTksuLAxOnziAgQtST-IGvhM2RBNuPVVBSIzufyTUM1Og8ssL2hEYgHnHfxRrj-sr/s400/theme+tune.bmp)

After getting the clip in my user area I imported it into Adobe Premiere and saved it in there ready for use.
One by one I copied all the video's onto my username as we recorded them and I made sure that I imported all the media straight into Adobe so that it was backed up.
There were certain clips that needed to have text on them ( the different peoples names & CCTV time and date), to do this I highlighted the clip that I wanted to add the text to and use the tools shown below to add it.
Ancillary Tasks
Creating the website Faye used Dreamweaver, which meant that she was able to add videos, buttons and hyperlinked pages. By using Dreamweaver she was also able to create rollover images which I think were very effective.
To make the title sequence I used Adobe Premiere and I opened it up on the same file that my main programme was saved in, I did this so we could put them both together to make it look more authentic. Faye also used paint and Microsoft powerpoint to create the Map used in the shots of charlotte doing the weather.
If all this technology was not readily available to me then I would not have been to create the project at all, especially if Adobe was not easily accesible. If this had been the case then I do not think that the end product would look as proffessional and as well done as it does.
Evaluation Q3
What have you learnt from your audience feedback?
Most of the audience feedback was positive and these are some of the comments that were given to us....
Music Video
Rebecca Smith - It was good. I liked the clip of Alison, she looked very professional and the programme is edited well, the newspaper clip was very effective.
Rakhee Patel - I felt that it was something which was very similar to a real news report. Having interviews and viewer footage adds to the realism of the video. There was clear consistency which adds to the professionalism.
Runi Ali - I thought it followed the conventions of an actual news report. The report by Alison seemed really professional and the framing was consistant throughout.
Hannah Sealy - The tones of the images went really well with the genre of report. The background music was too loud at one point as you can't hear te news presenter talking.
Chelsey Martin - The close ups of Alison in certain places was really effective and I liked the reverse effect that you used with the traffic. The only criticism that I would give is that there are jumps in some places and this does not make it look proffesional enough.
After taking into consideration Hannah's views on the problem of sound I altered the sound level of the theme tune as Runi begins to talk and I think that It sounds more effective. It also sounds alot clearer now and I think that this change has made the clip seem even more professional than it was before.
Taking on board Chelsey's thoughts I went back to the beginning of the footage and slowly went through each individual clip and moved them closer together to get rid of any jumps or gaps. This meant that all the audio and film clips that I had un-linked had to be moved seperately which was very time consuming. After doing this, I think that the video improved dramatically and it ran a lot smoother than it had done before.
Website
Lousie Barwell - I think that the pictures that you used stand out very well and are really eye catching, one thing I would say is that there are too many different colours used in the writing and I think this needs to be cut down a bit.

Lauren bailey - I like the 'top video' section of your homepage and I really like the graffiti picture you have used. Well done girls!
Evaluation Q2
How effective is the combination of your main products and ancillary texts?
News Programme
We decided to base our news programme on ITV News at 10, using both their theme tune and main routine of the programme ( Top Story, Title Sequence, Stories, Repeat main story, Interviews etc).
The main theme (top story) of our news programme was the subject of Anti-social behaviour. I thought about doing this subject because it is something that is very relevant in society today and at the time that we began our filming the government had just released the new package 'the policing pledge'. When I put this idea to Faye she seemed keen to concentrate on this subject too and had not come up with any ideas so this was our choice.
After looking at ITV news at 10, we decided that there was not a need to concentrate on any other subjects to include in our video because the main emphasis is ALWAYS on one main 'top story'.
Title Sequence
Our title sequence and website were the two anicillary tasks that we decided to do and we made sure that there were very clear links and consistency between all three tasks. We decided to use a shot of the 'ASBOs' in out title sequence as well as in our main programme because it was the main story and we felt that it needed to be repeated for added effect. We also used the same theme tune in the title sequence as at the end of the programme to add to the consistency.
We edited the title sequence using Adobe Premiere making sure that certain aspects of the title sequence were made to stand out more (with use of slow motion and reverse speed).
Website
Before we began to make our website we looked into several different News programme websites ( concentrating mainly on ITV's) and using this with research we had already done, we started to create our website.
On our website there are clear links between the site and the programme, we used videos of PC Harding that were featured in our programme as well as others that we chose not to show on the programme but that we still thought were important.
We also decided to use the colour scheme that we had used for the background in the main anchor shots for the site and used the same fonts in many different places.
I think that we linked our three tasks together very well and I think that it looks very realistic and authentic, there is only one thing that I would change and that would some of the questions that we asked PC Harding as some were irrelevant and this meant that we were unable to use them.
